Regarding Beating Cases by Foreign Guides, HPI Asks for Immigration Firmness

MANGUPURA – Regarding the beating case carried out by the perpetrator with the initials Ah, a foreigner from China some time ago, until now there has been no firm action from the immigration authorities. Moreover, Ah was caught doing guide activities illegally.

Regarding the presence of illegal foreign guides, the Indonesian Tour Guides Association (HPI) returned to the Immigration office for class I, specifically Ngurah Rai, Tuesday (17/4). The arrival of representatives from HPI members of the Mandarin division, to ask again regarding the steps of the Immigration to resolve the case of the existence of illegal foreign guides.

According to the Chairman of the DPD HPI Bali, I Nyoman Nuarta, SH., his party believes that immigration has a commitment to supervise foreigners. Not only China, but also for Korea, France and Russia. In the case of the beating, his party asked the immigration authorities to be firm in enforcing the rules. If they deviate from enforcing the rules, they will come back down with all members to request that problems like this be processed immediately.

So far, his party feels aggrieved by the existence of illegal foreign guides. Not only HPI, but Asita as a tour product maker also feels disadvantaged. Because so far they are free to roam.

Meanwhile, Head of Immigration Class I Special for Ngurah Rai, Amran Aris met at his office, saying that at the meeting, his party only discussed the immigration review. In the case of the existence of illegal foreign guides, his party views the need for two pieces of evidence for immigration filing (projustisia) and immigration administration actions. “The person concerned can be deported and put on a list of six months and can be extended,” he said.

In the case of Ah, not only will he be sent home but can also be prevented from doing so for 6 months. His party admitted that they could not ban them directly for one year, but that it had to go through a decision of the Constitutional Court (MK). But if the projustisia is likely to be tipiring, it will be fined. “If we are not satisfied, we will direct it to the realm of pro-justice. But I’m afraid that it will be considered a minor crime, subject to a fine,” he said.

Responding to the statement from the Head of Immigration, the attorney for the victim of the beating, Rado Fridsel L, was disappointed. Because on April 12, his party had sent preliminary evidence. However, there has been no follow-up from the immigration authorities. From the evidence shown, it is proven that this Ahoi does guide activities. Even Ahoi has come to Bali many times.

He regretted that he ended up only being penalized. Because according to Immigration Law No. 6 of 2011, Article 112, foreign citizens who carry out activities that are not in accordance with their visas can be sentenced to 5 years in prison. For this reason, they will be escorted to court. “We do not reject the arrival of foreigners, but must come according to the rules. With the statement from the head of immigration, we are very disappointed,” he said.
